Now that we know what is included in each wedding package, let's talk more in depth about which one would be the best fit for you!

Where Luxury meets security

The Diamond Package

For a standard, traditional wedding I typically recommend the Diamond Package. This is the only package that comes with two photographers, which is beneficial for a few key reasons -

#1 It saves SO much time - the most valuable asset of a wedding day

#2 You get more coverage, ensuring extra safety to not miss important moments

#3 In case of emergencies - I know, we don't want to think about it!

#4 More edited photos returned overall

Why a second photographer on you wedding day can save you *TIME*

Wedding professionals all know how beneficial it is to have a second photographer with you on the wedding day. It is similar to any other professional position having an assistant or second hand to help you - it greatly helps with time. If you are a bride or groom who is currently planning a wedding, you may have come to the realization that TIME is the most valuable asset of a wedding day - there just doesn't seem to be enough of it for all the fun things you want to do with your special day!

Here are some examples of how having two photographers can greatly save time on a wedding day:

When there are two wedding photographers, the lead photographer (me) gets to stay with one partner during the getting ready portion of the day, while the 2nd photographer gets to stay with the other partner. This ensures we don't miss any special moments. (The alternative: If I was the only photographer, I would have to capture one partner's getting ready photos, then run or drive over to the other's location to get theirs. But what if a sweet, candid moment happens after I leave, or if there's not enough time in the timeline to get both done thoroughly?)

Similarly, when one photographer captures the bride's and bridesmaid portraits, the other photographer can capture the groom's and groomsmen portraits. We love efficiency over here!

Why is more coverage important?

It's pretty clear how having a second photographer would result in more photo coverage of the wedding day overall, but why does that matter you ask? A specific example I like to cite is the moment of the bride walking down the aisle. Everyone wants a photograph of this special moment of course, but they ALSO want a photograph of the groom's reaction to the bride walking down the aisle! Since this moment happens simultaneously, it can be tricky to capture both well. If there are two photographers, one can solely focus on the bride while the other solely focuses on the groom. This applies to many more moments too, such as one photographer focusing on the bride during the bouquet toss, while the other focuses on the guests.

It is also common for the two photographers to coordinate what lenses they use for times like the ceremony or toasts, so that one photographer can be on a zoom lens and get close up shots, while the other can get wide shots of the same moment.

A final example I'll give in regards to wedding day coverage is about cocktail hour (the hour following your wedding ceremony). It may not be the most important moment of the day, but people typically still want photos of the appetizers they spent a lot of money on being served, the custom drinks they picked out, and their guests enjoying it all! The problem is that cocktail hour is typically when we take your family portraits and couples portraits, especially if you opted to not do a first look earlier in the day. When it is just me photographing these portraits, I'm therefore unable to get those cute cocktail hour candids.

Overall, two photographers can work together to get different angles, perspectives, and overall more coverage of your big day!

A 2nd photographer can be a lifesaver in the case of an emergency

I know we don't even want to think about it, but it's good to have a backup plan ready in case of an emergency! At the end of the day, cameras and photography equipment are machines that are capable of breaking or malfunctioning. That is why I always bring two cameras with me on a wedding day. But even still, having a second photographer being present and having all their equipment with them can be a lifesaver in the case of an emergency such as a camera malfunctioning, battery dying, SD card failing, and more. I want to emphasize that it has never happened to me before, but you can never be too careful!

More photos taken = more edited photos returned!

It's pretty simple - with all the extra coverage that comes from a second photographer being present during your wedding day, it is a no brainer that you'll receive more edited photos in return. And that's what wedding photography is all about at the end of the day - giving clients those professionally edited photographs of their wedding that they'll treasure for the rest of their lives. Specifically looking at my wedding package options, you'll see that I deliver 500 more edited photos with the Diamond Package vs. the Gold Package.

Quick Note

To be clear, the 2nd photographer I would hire to work with me on your wedding day would have a similar photography style to me in terms of posing, composition, etc. That being said, all editing would still be done by me alone to ensure a cohesive gallery. They would also be someone that I trust, and you would get to approve them of course!

The Gold Package

While I stand by all the benefits I previously mentioned of having a second photographer at your wedding day, having one talented photographer be the sole capturer of your day is technically all you need to receive great wedding photos.

The important aspect of the Gold Package is that it includes full coverage of your day, and comes with a complimentary engagement session or add on of similar value!

From Getting Ready to Reception

Nearly every bride or groom that inquires with me wants full wedding day coverage. This makes perfect sense, as you spend so long planning and so much paying for all the little details of the day from your jewelry to your DJ; Of course you'll want it captured to remember forever! Some of the sweetest moments happen during the getting ready stage, like when your mom or maid of honor buttons up your dress. And some of the most FUN moments happen at the end of the night, when all the stress of planning is over and you're finally able to let loose and party with your loved ones! That's why with the Gold Package I offer 8-10 hours of coverage to not miss any moment. Heck, I'll be your personal alarm clock in the morning and tuck you in bed at night.

The Gold and Diamond Packages come with a complimentary 1 hour engagement session, OR choice of one add on below!

À la carte

Rehearsal Dinner

Some of the most special and memorable moments happen the night before your wedding, at the rehearsal dinner. People often talk on the wedding day about how there was not a dry eye in the room during the rehearsal dinner speeches. These are moments you won't want to forget! Make sure they get captured so you can hold onto them forever.

$500, with 100 high-resolution, edited photos delivered per hour of coverage

Bridal Shower

You put so much into your bridal shower. You and your bridesmaids might spend hours DIY-ing decorations, planning a theme or location, sending invites, etc. You'll likely play fun games with your guests, open presents, and share stories and toasts to celebrate you and your partner as a couple. So many precious moments go into this day, so why not have it photographed to preserve the memory of it forever?

$500, with 100 high-resolution, edited photos delivered per hour of coverage

Bachelor or Bachelorette Party

Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties are nothing short of FUN. Legendary moments happen on this night that you definitely won't want to forget. You might rent a fancy airbnb and get ready with your girls before heading to the club, or show off your dance moves on a party bus. Whatever you do, think of how iconic it would be to get some direct flash, candid pics of the shenanigans you get in to! Perfect material for an Instagram photo dump, if you ask me.

$500, with 100 high-resolution, edited photos delivered per hour of coverage

Bridal Session

These types of sessions are so precious. Bridal sessions are typically done a few months before the wedding, and can be portraits solely of the bride or of the couple together. This is a stress-free way to capture gorgeous portraits of yourselves at an incredible location that elevates your photos to the next level. You can practice your hair and makeup to see if there's anything you'd change for your big day, and have gorgeous photos to display at your wedding.

1 hour - $600, with 150 high-resolution, edited photos delivered

Newlywed Session

A newlywed session is done shortly after the wedding. It captures your newly married bliss in a stress-free, intimate way with time to get creative and personal (as opposed to your bridal portraits on your actual wedding day, which are unfortunately often limited to make room for other events in your timeline). It's another chance to get use out of those expensive wedding outfits, OR put something on that feels more you!

1 hour - $600, with 150 high-resolution, edited photos delivered

To reiterate, you're welcome to add as many of the above options as you'd like to your wedding package. But with the Diamond and Gold Packages, you can opt for either a complimentary 1 hour engagement session, or one of the above add ons for FREE!

If you've already had your engagement photos taken, no worries! That's why I've included these options to add as much value to your wedding package as possible. You could choose between 1 hour of coverage of your rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or bachelor/bachelorette party, or a 1 hour bridal or newlywed session.

short & sweet

The Silver Package

Some people simply don't want or need a full 8-10 hours of coverage on their wedding day - and that's totally okay! That's why I've included this budget-friendly package so you can still enjoy the experience of working with Jennifer Hoehn Photography.

The Silver Package might be a good fit for you if:

You don't care about getting ready photos

I've photographed one or two weddings where the bride or groom simply didn't consider the getting ready portion of the day to be a time they needed photographs of! Since it is YOUR day, of course that is fine if you prefer these moments to be private with your loved ones or moments of self-reflection.

You don't have a big reception

I've also photographed weddings where the earlier moments such as the ceremony and family photos were most important to the couple, so they didn't care to have photos of the dancing/toasts/etc. during the reception time. Or maybe you plan on having a dinner, but no dancing to follow.

Your timeline is condensed & streamlined

Most wedding timelines have wiggle room built in for unexpected delays, travel time, and overall to not have the day feel too rushed. But sometimes a wedding timeline can be made very efficient and streamlined so that we can still hit all the important moments in 6 hours or less!

You're on a stricter budget

If you don't have the budget for my Gold or Diamond Packages, no worries! I would still love the chance to work with you. How it typically works with the Silver Package if you still want the majority of the day covered is that we shave off some time at the start (getting ready) and end (dancing) parts of the day. Let me know what photos are most important to you, and let's make something work together!

my final thoughts

To Summarize -

Overall I strongly believe the Diamond Package gives you the most value. Having two wedding photographers present will greatly help the timeline of the day, give you more coverage, safety, and subsequently more edited photos returned! However, one talented wedding photographer can get the job done of capturing everything you need to have full coverage of the day, and the Gold Package allows for just that. Plus, the Diamond and Gold Packages come with a complimentary 1 hour engagement session, or choice of a similar-valued add on instead, such as 1 hour of rehearsal dinner coverage. If you simply don't have the budget or necessity for full wedding day coverage, the Silver Package might be the best fit for you. However you choose to tie the knot, know that Jennifer Hoehn Photography can accommodate you.
